Contextual Security Solutions is gearing up for TechAdvantage 2024 at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio Texas. Like a lot of other vendors this begets some in-house excitement, frenzy, and chaos. I wanted to pause and give a quick behind-the-scenes look into some of our preparation and why we choose to attend this conference.
Getting ready is daunting for a small company like Contextual Security Solutions; our team works closely every day to sell, prepare, execute, and deliver our suite of services. Working in events takes some extra effort from everyone to ensure not only a successful trip but also the continued excellence and professionalism in the delivery of our products. I know I am biased, but God has blessed us with a great team of people that love their work, lover their customers, and love the Lord. They never fail to step up and deliver as we buy giveaways, reserve booths, order carpet (did you know a booth doesn’t come with carpet but it is required?), develop marketing material, and advertise ahead of time. Huge thanks to our team for getting all of this together while still performing their daily tasks and dealing with the joys and difficulties of their personal lives.
Why do we love TechAdvantage? This is so easy to answer, I could focus on the cool venues, relevant topics, and of course access to thousands of electric cooperatives but that isn’t the primary reason we’re attending this year. We do enjoy the benefits of a conference that’s a great business decision but it’s even better when we get to catch up with some of our closest friends. Last year, I had the privilege of being a closing speaker and we took that opportunity to draw attention to one of our good friends.
My friend Tim passed away last year from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and though his passing was sad, it was a great joy to call attention to the kind of person he was which is embodied in so many of our electric cooperative friends. Tim loved to tell me his opinion of cybersecurity products and services, help me solve problems, encourage me when life was hard, and remind me that hope is found in Christ alone. I miss you my friend and I’m looking forward to seeing you again soon.
