It’s that time of year again… It’s time to take a quick break from cybersecurity news and insight that we typically share on our “Information Evolves” blog and introduce this year’s addition to the Contextual Security Solutions “Pen Set” - a tradition we began back in 2014. To start off, last year’s ESEE’s Libertariat Machete was going to be hard to beat – it’s such a great knife, scratch that – machete, and as of this morning, no one has cut off a finger yet (we couldn’t say that about the Benchmade Coalition from a few years ago – also another superb knife). With that said, for this year’s version, we decided to go with something from the past, something iconic, and something that is truly American. However, before we get along with it, I need to clarify that it’s not something, but some things… a knife that owes its beginnings to an early 1900’s blacksmith from Kansas named Hoyt Buck, and a piece of Americana that has been all over the world, from the beaches in Normandy to the sets of over 2000 movies. Anyone remember this scene from one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies?
Fifteen minutes before me and our President Slade Griffin walked into Smoky Mountain Knife Works a few weeks ago, we had no idea that we’d be pairing a Buck Knives iconic 110 and a Zippo. It was pure providence that the Zippo counter happened to be ten feet from the knife engraving station – but what a pair they make. The Buck 110 and Zippo are both American made, high quality, iconic pieces. Whether you find yourself hiking, hunting, or inviting a close friend out to the coast to have a few laughs, this combo is sure to have you covered. From all of us at Contextual Security Solutions, Thank You, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
